The 5 A's Model of Values Based Recruitment
Values based recruitment is an approach that focusses on identifying and understanding the values, behaviours, and motivations of your candidates. The approach looks at how your candidates’ values and behaviours align with the vision and values of your organisation.

Values based recruitment enables organisations to be more inclusive and widen their recruitment pool by looking beyond previous experience and qualifications. It helps identify candidates with the potential and passion to be amazing employees through their shared commitment to the organisation’s culture, vision and values.

The 5As Values Based Recruitment Model was developed by Kerry Cleary (VBA Consulting) in partnership with Skills for Care to support social care organisations to identify and plan each of the different stages of a values-based recruitment approach.
This toolkit will provide you with top tips, templates and resources so you can review your current recruitment process though a values-based recruitment lens and identify ways to improve and change your recruitment approach so you can become a values-based recruiter.
