Values Based Recruitment - Training and Consultancy Programmes
All of our Values-Based Recruitment training and consultancy programmes are based on
our Values Based Recruitment 5 A’s model which we originally designed in partnership
with Skills for Care.
We offer two core training programmes which can be delivered virtually or in person:

An introduction to Values-Based Recruitment
This one-day training programme is for organisations who want to upskill leaders or HR Teams on the fundamentals of Values Based Recruitment and how to implement it in their organisation. The programme introduces the 5 A’s Model and provides opportunities for organisations to self assess their organisation against the model and develop an embedding action plan.

Values Based Interviewing
This is our flagship two-day Values Based Interviewing training programme. Participants develop new skills and confidence in using the SAFARI approach to probing and understanding candidates’ values, behaviours, motivations and their alignment to the vision and mission of the organisation. This enables organisations to recruit the right people who will make a valuable contribution to those you work with.

We also offer Values Based Recruitment consultancy services which include:
Developing organisational vision, values and behaviours frameworks
Reviewing organisational recruitment policies, procedures and approaches against the 5 A’s model and making recommendations for change.
Developing bespoke Values Based Interview question banks
Developing knowledge, skills and confidence in HR and OD teams to lead VBR in their organisations.

Here are some example programmes we have run in other organisations:
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
We began work with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2013 to develop an approach to values based interviewing in response to the Francis Inquiry which recommended exploring candidate's values and behaviours when recruiting to posts in the NHS. Our research together showed VBI had a positive impact on recruitment to the Trust and continues to be used today : https://www.ouh.nhs.uk/working-for-us/application/vbi/
